Coldplay is usually the kind of music you're forced to listen to while you're waiting in line for something at Starbucks. After the release of its highly melodic but poorly named album, "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends," it still is...just with an occasional keyboard thrown in.

The album continues with the same old formula - a guitar/Chris Martin driven melody with basic drums and bass. While most bands choose to start off an album with an explosive opening track coming at you like a flying dragon kick to the face, Coldplay eases into "Viva La Vida" much like a geriatric woman into a Jacuzzi.

The first two tracks are classic Coldplay-style super melodic, super soft rock. Most of the lyrics are vague, but some songs such as "Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love" have a blatant religious subtext: "By the church, we're waiting/reign of love/my knees go praying." The band for the most part hasn't changed up its style very much. If you're already a Coldplay fan, then you have nothing to worry about with this album.
