Gnarls Barkley came out with the hit song "Crazy" last year which was an instant success.

But it was one of the only well-known songs from their last CD, "St. Elsewhere." If their fans were happy with the last record, they will most likely be pleased with their new album, "The Odd Couple," because most songs sound very similar to their previous work with the same rhythmic beats, catchy choruses, and croaky voice.

The 13-track album lacks variety and leaves the listener feeling a lot like they just sat through an hour with a record on repeat. To Gnarls Barkley's credit, it pretty much created a genre of music all its own, and takes risks by experimenting with new sounds. They keep an upbeat theme, but one that would be better to listen to when partying downtown.
