Here Comes the Noise

A look at trolley construction going on thiswinter break

Construction on the incoming Metropolitan Transit DevelopmentBoard trolley has officially begun. During the winter break andwinter session, officials expect heavy construction activity.Following is a schedule of construction activity between now and thebeginning of the spring semester:

West Plaza Mall: Nov. 30 — Dec. 18

Disabled Student Parking from P lot will be moved to the SoftballField (8 spaces). West Plaza Mall will be narrowed for pedestriantraffic. The alley will be open for access. –

Campanile Walk: Dec. 18 — Jan. 26

East side of Campanile Walkway will be closed for storm drainconstruction. The west side of Campanile will remain open. Access toAdams Humanities will remain open. One entrance/exit may be closedfor short periods of time.

Aztec Center North: Dec. 18 — Jan. 26

The Free Speech Steps and surrounding area will be closed forutility relocation. The ramp on the east side of the area will remainopen at all times. Pedestrians and people with disabilities will bedetoured around construction site via the ramp.

Hardy Way: Beginning Nov. 30

Hardy Way will be used for moving heavy construction equipment.This street should have signage posted to alert traffic of possibleconstruction equipment operations.

P Lot: Beginning Nov. 30

P Lot has been reserved for construction trailers and equipmentand is now closed to all non-construction related traffic.

Disabled persons currently using P Lot can park in the lot untilDec. 18. New disabled spaces are being built at the softball fieldand will be available after Dec. 18th.
