Part of the Aztecs’ success this yearwill rest on their recruiting class which was ranked fifth in thenation by Baseball America. At least one freshman, Anthony Gwynn isprojected to be in the starting lineup, in left field.

Opponents Update: Riverside opened its season Saturday with a 10-6victory over UCLA. On Tuesday, they got whipped 10-0 by USD.

OSU, ranked No. 35, is led by catcher Ryan Budde (.291, 9 HR, 48RBI), selected by Baseball America as a first-team All-American.

Citadel, ranked 27th, is led by Dallas McPherson, a LouisvilleSlugger first-team All-American, who hit .378 with nine home runs and55 RBI last year, while posting an 8-1 record and 3.07 ERA as apitcher.
