Responsibility goes hand-in-hand with adulthood – a realization I literally stumbled upon after drinking irresponsibly on my 20th birthday. Although the label of adulthood is traditionally marked by a person’s 18th birthday, the stigmatized “teen” label is omnipresent.

For the past quarter-century, our nation’s war on drugs – declared by the government on its own citizens – has epitomized political hypocrisy. According to the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, more than 19.5 million Americans use illicit drugs; however, these users do so in fear of being incarcerated, while users of alcohol and tobacco – responsible for much more death and turmoil – buy their fixes over the counter freely.

The Used In Love and Death Shorter tracks, catchy rhythm sections and more “pop” for our pop-culture comprise The Used’s second release, In Love and Death. The album is less emotional and more straight-ahead rock, borderline punk, with a subtle tinge of musical genius.

Jay Z / Linkin Park Collision Course After experiencing all the unnecessary high school drama with the minor-obsessed singer R. Kelly, many thought rapper Jay-Z would be too emotionally overloaded to ever do another collaboration again. And yet, here he is, just a few weeks after his tearful breakup with his Best of Both Worlds partner, promoting a new collaboration album with rap-rock group Linkin Park.

The spirit of William Shakespeare is alive and well at San Diego State. The theatre department’s production of Othello tells a story of anger, love, jealousy and most of all – deception. The plot revolves around the lives of Othello (Lloyd Gene Robinson II), an overzealous general, and his wife Desdemona (Bethany Smith), who are both torn apart by Iago (Adam Parker), one of Othello’s former military comrades.
