Fall recruitment wrapping up

Recruitment for the Interfraternity Council is slowly coming to an end. Most fraternities ended their recruitment last week and others are slowly continuing to accept new members throughout this week.

Doug Case, coordinator for fraternity and sorority life said there were about 600 men who joined a fraternity. Each IFC house had anywhere from 12 to 80 new members.

This does not include those who are continuing to attend recruitment events this week.

For the United Sorority and Fraternity Council chapters, recruitment is coming to an end this week as well. Those who were interested in joining a fraternity from this council have already been through the interview process and are now receiving invitations to join a house.

Panhellenic sororities

welcoming new members

Some Panhellenic Association Sororities are having their new member presentations this weekend.

“New member presents are a good time for the families of girls in sororities to come together and welcome the new additions to our house,” said Gamma Phi Beta biology sophomore Stephani Parker.

Also, for women who were interested in joining a sorority but missed the deadline or did not get invited to the house of their choice, some Panhellenic sororities are still having extra recruitment parties to match the median quota of 180 women per sorority house.

Delta Zeta recruitment week will begin the week of Oct. 2.
