“10 Items or Less,” is a comedy series on TBS that mixes scripted and improvisational ingredients. The sitcom, created by well-known comedy improv actor John Lehr, travels behind the scenes at a family-owned grocery store being run by a host of unique and witty characters.

A description of all the characters in the show gives a pretty good explanation of what “10 Items or Less” is all about:

Lehr plays Leslie Pool, who comes back to his hometown of Dayton, Ohio, to manage the Green & Grains grocery store he has just inherited from his father. Pool is joined by Carl (Robert Clendenin), the admirable, dorky stock boy who serves as Leslie’s sidekick; Yolanda (Roberta Valderrama), the blatantly forward force in the produce department who’s also pregnant with Carl’s baby; Buck (Greg Davis Jr.), the bag boy who is looking toward the future by taking night classes; Ingrid (Kirsten Gronfield), the peculiar, soft-spoken customer service representative who lives for Renaissance festivals; Richard (Christopher Liam Moore), the proud cashier who aspires to become a professional ice dancer; and Todd (Chris Payne Gilbert), the exciting meatman who dreams of one day becoming a stock car driver.

Attempting to sabotage Green & Grains is Leslie’s arch nemesis, Amy (Jennifer Elise Cox), who is the manager at the nearby Super Value Mart down the street. Lehr has known her since high school, where she was the popular prom queen and he, a complete geek.

“10 Items or Less” is an up-and-coming comedy which has drawn comparisons to “Whose Line Is It Anway?” and “Seinfeld.” Watch the season-two finale tonight on TBS after “The Office” at 11 p.m.

If you missed an episode or simply want to watch it again, TBS has made them all available to view at www.tbs.com.
