Events happening on 9/11

  • San Diego State will remember 9/11 at a special ceremony 11 a.m. today at the Campanile Walkway flagpole in front of Hepner Hall.
  • ROTC cadets from the Army, Navy and Air Force will lower the flag to half-mast. A moment of silence will follow by the playing of “Taps” by a trumpeter from the music department. The ceremony will conclude with a short prayer.
  • FDNY Retirees of San Diego, along with the USS Midway Museum, will pay tribute, honor fallen heroes and keep their promise to never forget. The event will happen today at 2:30 p.m. There will be free admission to the museum starting at 1:00 p.m. The USS Midway Museum is located at 910 Harbor Drive.
  • Kaiser Permanente is partnering up with the Muslim American Organization for a blood drive campaign at Kaiser Permanente, located at 4405 Vandever Ave. The blood drive is in commemoration of the lives lost on 9/11 and to pay tribute to service members.
