Muse, “The 2nd Law”
British kings of power-rock Muse release its sixth studio album today titled “The 2nd Law.” The band previously stated it intended to take its sound in a different direction with its latest release. While the album is receiving mixed reviews from critics, the band popularity is bigger than ever.
“NBA 2K13” (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PC, PSP)
The latest from the “NBA 2K” franchise dribbles, passes and dunks its way to shelves today. This year’s cover, boasting the likenesses of Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose signifies the series’ renewed focus on young talent.
“Resident Evil 6” (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)
After a plethora of spin-offs and movie tie-ins, a numbered “Resident Evil” sequel releases today. After the disappointing “Operation Raccoon City” earlier this year, fans are eager to get their hands on some good old-fashioned action from this franchise. While the game features appearances from series veterans Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield, there’s no word if players can once again be crowned “the master of unlocking.”
“Dark Shadows” (DVD)
Johnny Depp stars in this cinematic reboot of the quasi- classic television show about a group of supernatural beings trying to make it in the real world. The film, an overall box office success, garnered less-than- favorable reviews from critics. The cast includes Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter.
“Iron Sky” (DVD)
Two words: Moon Nazis.
This modern B-movie classic finally hits DVD shelves in North America today. The plot (which really doesn’t matter) involves Nazis being driven off the planet in 1945, only to regroup on the moon, eventually launching an assault on Earth. Though many argue the World War II genre is becoming stale, let me reiterate: Moon Nazis.
