DVBBS

Throughout the past couple of months, a craze has been sweeping the EDM atmosphere. At the forefront is Canadian duo, DVBBS (pronounced “dubs”). Known for their three Beatport No. 1 hits “Tsunami,” “Stampede” and “Raveology,” DVBBS has been circling the globe on a whirlwind tour. Bringing unparalleled energy, DVBBS is out to tear up the dance floor night in and night out. Come out to Bassmnt this Friday, Feb. 7 at 9 p.m. for a massive show and an incredible night.

Young the Giant

Fresh off its sophomore album, “Mind Over Matter,” Young the Giant is touring the nation and coming right here to San Diego. “Mind Over Matter” includes the band’s latest two singles, “It’s About Time” and “Crystalized,” which have been climbing the charts as of late. Come out to Soma San Diego this Sunday, Feb. 9 to catch the alternative-indie rock group strut its stuff.

“Palnj” by Kristopher Apple

San Diego State’s graduate student Kristopher Apple will be presenting his interdisciplinary thesis performance of “Palnj” at the SDSU Dance Studio Theatre. Joined by other dancers, Apple’s “Palnj” combines original music, choreography and poetry into a stage production. The performance will be shown at 7:30 p.m. from Thursday, Feb. 6 to Saturday, Feb. 8. Attend the free event to catch an impressive talent here on campus.

Vinyl Junkies Record Swap

The Casbah is a great place for live music fans, but this weekend the venue will be an exciting hub specifically for record lovers. This Saturday, Feb. 8, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The Casbah will be hosting the Vinyl Junkies Record Swap, presented by Daydream Nation. The swap will feature vendors selling a variety of records, but the event is so much more. Make sure to catch the DJ sets, featuring members from San Diego band, The Locust, Mariachi El Bronx. San Diego Taco Company will also be there to provide the food. The event is 21 and up and admission is $3-have fun record shopping.
