On Saturday, the San Diego State football team returned home to Aztec Warrior Stadium to take on the University of Hawai’i Warriors.
Usually in the game of football, the team that wins the turnover battle will win the game.
It was another showdown of California state schools. Both San Diego State and Fresno State entered Saturday’s game at an even 2-2 record. Coming off of a rough, last-minute loss to San Jose State last week, the Aztecs hoped for a fast start against the Bulldogs in the fifth game of the season.
After three quarters of Saturday’s game, San Diego State led San Jose State 24-17. It was not the widest of margins, but the way the defense was playing, it seemed like enough to hold on for a victory. Obviously it was not.
In a heated battle between Northern and Southern California state schools, San Diego State welcomed San Jose State on Saturday for an evenly matched duel.
