San Diego State’s e3 Club organized its own GreenFest and President Barack Obama makes numerous references to the green movement. But what does “going green” really mean? And more importantly, what is the rest of the country doing about it? Despite the economic meltdown we experienced in the latter half of 2008, venture capital firms still invested $7.5 billion into green technology. This represents a huge increase compared with the previous year and is a strong signal that investments in the green industry are more mainstream than ever before.

I can only laugh at the immeasurable pleasure the beginning of 2009 has brought the citizens of this wonderful country of ours. The irony is more than painful.
