Ladies' clothing attracting wrong kind of attention

San Diego men must be in high demand because the ladies around here sure work hard to impress them. Take a stroll around campus any weekend night and you will find girls wearing skirts so short they might as well be wearing a piece of fabric tied around their waists, shirts that are more like bras and heels that are so tall and pointy that one bad step could break an ankle.

Ladies: Cover up - you are attracting the wrong attention. Do you honestly think some boy at a party really cares about having a conversation with you when your breasts are hanging out of your shirt? No, he wants to stare at you while pretending to create an intelligent conversation, and all the while he's wondering where this discussion will lead to by the end of the night.

Matthew Quinn, a frequent attendee of campus social events said, "What's funny is when you stare at them and they get mad. They're practically naked, what do they expect me to do?"

I understand the concept "when you got it, flaunt it." I myself believe in this, but there is a way to wear clothing that is sexy and attractive but covers the places that need to be covered. Keep some things a secret.

There is an imaginary line, and the ladies of San Diego are definitely crossing it. In the bars, the clubs, at school, at parties and on the street, ladies are stepping way over the line of self -respect. Feel good about yourself in a pair of jeans. I am not saying us ladies should not care about the way we look; I am saying that leaving certain things to the imagination attracts just as much attention as the stares you get by popping out of your shirt and skirt.

Freshman Laura Simon said, "I'm just following the fashion of the times, and I am comfortable with myself to wear whatever I want." It is unfortunate that wearing a full set of clothing is no longer a trend. The term "fashion trendy" has turned into "provocatively trendy."

Any guy who really cares about personality is not interested in what women are wearing. He is interested in what she has to say. This is the kind of attention most girls are looking for - a man who is interested in her character - when she gets dolled up. But she's not finding him by wearing her skimpy little outfits. Instead, she is finding horny males who want to either gawk at her or take things a few steps further.
