The Internet is pretty important. It’s more than just funny pictures of cats or a place for people to stream movies. It’s safe to say that the Internet is essential to the function of our communities, businesses and entertainment for the majority of Americans. So, it would make sense to make it readily available everywhere, especially when PC World reports that the United States currently ranks only 15th in the world for high-speed Internet accessibility. For a nation that created the Internet and developed staple services such as Google, you’d think we would rank at the top, but that’s not the case.
