Lindley’s shoulder improving
What originally appeared to be a potential season ending shoulder injury for redshirt freshman Ryan Lindley is now being considered day-to-day. The San Diego State football team’s quarterback underwent a cat scan Monday, revealing no fracture in his injured shoulder. Head coach Chuck Long said Lindley suffered a “slight” shoulder separation after taking a vicious hit from TCU linebacker Daryl Washington early in the first quarter of Saturday’s game. But, now the injury doesn’t look as serious as originally thought, according to athletic trainer Don Kessler. Lindley has a shoulder sprain but has a chance to play this weekend against Air Force.
"I talked to him yesterday and he is doing OK,” senior linebacker Russell Allen said of Lindley. “I know that he will do whatever rehab or whatever is necessary to get himself back as quickly as he can; the sooner the better.”
If Lindley is unable to play this weekend, junior transfer Drew Westling will start at quarterback. Westling filled in for the injured Lindley against TCU and completed 6-of-17 passes for 61 yards.
