Gwynn gets extension
San Diego State baseball head coach Tony Gwynn signed a new contract yesterday that will keep him at SDSU for three more years.

“Now that the contract has been signed, we can move forward and concentrate on our aim of making Aztec baseball a perennial contender both in the Mountain West Conference as well as nationally,” Gwynn said to www.goaztecs.com. “I remain fully committed to my job here at San Diego State and look forward to working with my staff and players toward these goals.”

Gwynn has managed the Aztecs since 2002, compiling a record of 173-190. In 2004, Gwynn was named MWC Coach of the Year.
