Lady Aztecs push forward at Mark Covert Classic

Earlier this morning, the San Diego State cross country team competed in its first race of the season at the Cal State Fullerton’s Mark Covert Classic in Brea.

Overall the Lady Aztecs placed fifth out of eight teams, including cross-town foe, University of San Diego.

Sophomore Laura Vazquez came in first for SDSU in the Women’s 5K Run with a time of 19:11.4 and placed 17th out of 55 other runners.

Junior Jessica Cyigan placed second for the Aztecs with a time of 19:24.3 and placed 21st overall.

Next Saturday at 9 a.m., SDSU will compete at the Addias/UCI Invitational in Irvine.
