SDSU crime and incident report: Near-suicide attempt, stolen phone

Near-suicide attempt

A female student nearly attempted suicide Monday morning in Parking Lot X.

According to San Diego State police, the student was feeling depressed, which caused her to think about killing herself.

The student wanted to drive somewhere and do harm to herself, but she remained in the parking lot when officers arrived to assist her. She did not have a weapon.

Officers helped take the woman to a nearby hospital for treatment, SDSU Police Cpl. Mark Peterson said.

Duress phone call

Officers responded to an emergency phone line activation in Parking Lot A around 1 a.m. Monday morning.

When officers arrived to the scene there was no emergency and the area checked was safe, Peterson said.

Petty theft

A stolen phone was reported Monday afternoon in the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

The person’s phone was taken off the table where he was sitting at the student union, according to police.

Officers took a report of the crime but no arrest has been made.
